How a Rule With No Survival Still Grows

In Conway's Game of Life, a cell needs 2 or 3 living neighbors to survive — Seeds removes survival from the equation entirely. Only birth matters: any dead cell with exactly 2 living neighbors comes alive next generation. Since every currently-living cell is guaranteed to die, the entire population is replaced every single tick — but replacement isn't the same as disappearance. As long as the previous generation's live cells create new birth conditions somewhere nearby, the pattern keeps regenerating, just never in the same place twice. The result looks less like a static structure evolving and more like a wave of activity rippling outward.
